Bleach
Lough

Main trout fishing activities are focused on Bleach Lough, about 30
minutes drive from Millbank House. A 55 acre spring water lake
situated near Dromore Castle (known from the film High Spirits with
Peter O'Toole) in the scenic West Limerick area. Local communities,
as well as visitors from all over Ireland and Europe fish here.
Bleach Lough is frequently stocked with Rainbow and Brown Trout and
catches of Trout up to 10lbs are common. Other natural species in
the lake are Perch, Rudd, Roach and Pike Fishing. Anglers can access
the lake via shore or using a boat.

We also fish the famous East Clare Lakes, Doon Lake is one of the
prime fisheries in the East Clare Lakeland's. The lake is divided
into two parts and is joined in the centre by a smaller pond,
it is
about 100 acres in size and is located in typically Irish rural
countryside and holds good average size pike.

Angling
experts have described the waters of Lough Derg as 'exceedingly
rich'. The largest pike ever recorded anywhere in the world, 90lbs,
was captured here.

Lunch & Dinner
Millbank does not offer dinner, however in nearby (5- 10
mins drive), there are a many restaurants serving
both Irish and international cusine. This will allow you to
have flexible eating times to suit with the best fishing. A
restaurant guide is available from us.
Fishing takes place on different sections of river each day,
so details of the nearest place to have lunch will be
included with fishery maps. If you are being guided your
guide will take you to the nearst pub for lunch
Monster Trout Caught In Lough Corrib 2010
Czech angler Karel Sourek landed the fish of a lifetime when he
connected with a 25lb trout on Lough Corrib. The fish measured 90cm
and Karel caught it on a day when he had expected to be back home in
the Czech Republic. He had to stay in Ireland a few extra days
because of the airline disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud.
The story gets even better though. Karel decided to release his
prize catch back into the Lough, describing it as beautiful warrior,
which deserved to be freed. The fish was the largest caught in
Ireland for over 100 years!
Initially he as his friend Emil Bucko thought he'd snagged the
bottom at around 8m deep, but they soon realized that he had hooked
something big! This one wasn't destined for the trophy case however,
as it's now back in the waters of the Corrib. It'll be interesting
to see what size it is the next time it's caught, that's if we ever
see it again. At least Karel has given us that chance!
