Millbank House
was built in 1733 by the Keays family and today is the home
of Richard and Eleanor Keays. We welcome guests to our
house who are in pursuit of a fishing in Ireland. Our
speciality is fishing for Salmon, Wild Brown Trout, Pike and
Coarse Fishing, but assist all visitors with holiday
planning for other types of holiday.
The house
exudes a relaxed atmosphere and retains the wonderful
characteristics of past greatness while offering all modern
comforts for today's discerning angler. All large bedrooms
are ensuite.
Millbank has
been taking care of guests for over thirty years and always
looks forward to seeing many familar faces returning year
after year. It has a long tradition of being one of
Ireland's famous fishing houses with professional services
available on site, so you need to do very little organising
yourself, we do it for you. We have a number of tailor made
packages geared at
different types of angling at excellent prices. We will also
assist you in tailoring your own holiday if preferred.
We are located on the banks of the famous
Mulkear River which is within a
short driving distance of the many attractions and tourist
spots in the Shannon Region. Limerick City is just 15
minutes drive from the house, if you care to do some
shopping or wish to take your family for a day out. See

all visitors in pursuit of the many types of holiday option
on offer in the Shannon Region. Whether your interest is
golf, horse riding, hill climbing or other activities or
pursuits, or just wish to have a leisurely time, we at
Millbank will provide you with all the information and
contacts you need to plan your holiday and enjoy yourself
while you are visiting the region.

Fishing Options:
Bleach
Lough: Main trout fishing activities are focused on
Bleach Lough, about 30 minutes drive from Millbank House. A
55 acre spring water lake situated near Dromore Castle
(known from the film High Spirits with Peter O'Toole) in the
scenic West Limerick area. Local communities, as well as
visitors from all over Ireland and Europe fish here. Bleach
Lough is frequently stocked with Rainbow and Brown Trout and
catches of Trout up to 10lbs are common. Other natural
species in the lake are Perch, Rudd, Roach and Pike Fishing.
Anglers can access the lake via shore or using a boat.
Doon
Lake: We also fish the famous East Clare Lakes, Doon
Lake is one of the prime fisheries in the East Clare
Lakelands. The lake is divided into two parts and is joined
in the centre by a smaller pond, it is about
100 acres in size and is located in typically Irish rural
countryside and holds good average size pike.
Lough Derg:-
Angling experts have described the waters of Lough Derg as
'exceedingly rich'. The largest pike ever recorded anywhere
in the world, 90lbs, was captured here.

tourism sites in the South / West of Ireland for non fishers
